Hospitals and health systems are in the midst of the most financially difficult year since the start of the pandemic, according to the American Hospital Association. This, combined with staffing shortages, provider burnout, increased patient demand, and limited capital are only a few of the hurdles health systems and hospitals are looking to overcome. It is a critical time to maximize hospital capacity.
While each health leader has challenges unique to their facility, one universal goal — achieving ROI and maximizing healthcare capacity — resonates with all. Join us Dec. 6-7, 2022 for the fourth LeanTaaS Transform Hospital Operations Virtual Summit to learn how to achieve ROI through AI by unlocking scarce capacity in operating rooms, inpatient bed units, and infusion centers.
The virtual summit is free for all to attend and will feature a two-day program, hosted in partnership with Becker’s Healthcare. The summit will connect around 2,000 healthcare attendees with health system executives, technology leaders, and industry experts to discuss how AI, machine learning (ML), and data science can transform operations and generate ROI. Sessions are tracked by facility type (Infusion Center, Operating Room, or Inpatient Beds) so attendees can select the content most relevant to their specific roles.
The summit opens with a plenary session from LeanTaaS President and Chief Operating Officer Sanjeev Agrawal, titled “Increase ROI Through AI: Unlocking Scarce Capacity”. The session will detail how the foundational math of capacity management, matching supply with demand, is broken. The pandemic proved that existing tools and processes must be fundamentally revamped for health systems to overcome similar supply and demand shocks in the future. Agrawal will discuss how proven and scalable AI-driven, intelligent, virtual, and distributed systems can maximize healthcare capacity, create remarkable ROI, and reduce chaos, burnout, and alarm fatigue for providers.
Day one also features another plenary session from Angela Yochem, EVP and Chief Transformation & Digital Officer at Novant Health and Brian Dawson, System VP of Perioperative Services at CommonSpirit Health. They will discuss their own experiences leading their systems to generate ROI from AI, including creating a build/buy/partnership strategy, building a culture of innovation that embraces change, and sharing best practices for smooth implementations.
The first-day agenda includes OR impact stories where leaders from Baylor Scott & White Health Medical Center of McKinney and The University of Kansas Health System discuss how to increase block utilization and prime time utilization, as well as facilitate more manual releases/transfers of time before the auto-release deadlines. Additionally, day one features inpatient beds impact stories from leaders at University of Colorado Hospital, the flagship of UCHealth. Inpatient beds sessions will explore challenges around implementing and incorporating technology into current operational workflows and best practices for enabling employees to take part in adopting new technology.
The first day is rounded out with a panel discussion on using technology to address the healthcare workforce shortage from C-suite leaders at Henry Ford Health and Allegheny Health Network.
Day two will highlight infusion center impact stories from NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, SCL Health St. Mary’s Medical Center, The University of Kansas Health System, and Yale Pharmacy. To break down current trends and insights, KLAS Research Director Niel Oscarson will discuss the characteristics of a strong technology partner when it comes to infusion centers, and takeaways from f conversations with current LeanTaaS infusion customers.
The summit wraps up with one more OR impact story from LeanTaaS leadership and a series of product showcase sessions that reveal new features and innovative uses of AI/ML to improve OR, patient flow, and infusion center operations.
