Our team
Our team grows by 50% and we transition to a “flexibility-first” workplace, with the majority of our team working remotely.
We experienced
2020
We secure an additional $5M in funding from UPMC Enterprises and MemorialCare and now have 5 health system investors. We close out the year with a large funding round of $130M led by Insight Partners and Goldman Sachs, taking our total funding above $250M.
2019
We launch
We launch iQueue for Inpatient Beds at UCHealth in Colorado and MD Anderson Cancer Center, in response to customer requests to solve inpatient capacity challenges.
2018
We secure an additional $15M in follow-on funding from Insight Venture Partners.

iQueue deployments
iQueue deployments cover 2,000 Infusion Chairs and 225 Operating Rooms.
2016
We solve the OR block schedule optimization problem for the very first time at UCHealth in Colorado and launch our second product, iQueue for Operating Rooms.

Bain Capital makes a significant growth investment in LeanTaaS and becomes our majority shareholder.
Chilmark Research names us as a “Flagship Vendor” for Operational Excellence and Asset Optimization, we win the “New Product of the Year” and “Case Study of the Year” categories for the 2021 BIG Award for Business awards, and we are named to the CB Insights Digital 150 list for the second year in a row.

We secure an additional $16M in follow-on funding from Insight Venture Partners and $40M from Goldman Sachs bringing the total amount raised in 24 months to $101M.
We secure $30M in funding from Insight Venture Partners – one of the top software growth investment firms in the world.
We secure $13M from strategic investors, including 3 major health systems to build out the iQueue suite of products.
We decide to focus only on healthcare and launch our first product, iQueue for Infusion Centers.
We work with ~20 iconic companies, including Google, Home Depot, and Flextronics to improve operational performance through custom-built SaaS applications.

What’s next for LeanTaaS?

Our long-term vision is to be the AI-enabled “air traffic control” that optimizes patient flow and capacity across the entire continuum of care. This looks like launching new products to become the platform of choice for all healthcare organizations to unlock scarce capacity across the patient’s lifetime healthcare journey – from inpatient care to outpatient care to home health. We are well positioned to solve this problem at scale and are excited to launch new products that will unlock scarce capacity across the patient’s lifetime healthcare journey.


We’ve seen this movie already play out in other asset-intensive industries like aviation and package delivery services. Those industries have been transformed by their version of “air traffic control.” The time for the same value creation in healthcare is now.
