Celebrating Pride Month at LeanTaaS: Education, Advocacy, and Community

At LeanTaaS, Pride Month has become much more than a symbolic gesture. It represents a meaningful opportunity to foster education, create safe spaces, advocate for better healthcare access for all, and build lasting community. Thanks to the dedication of this year’s Pride Month Leadership Team—Tyler Moore, Megan O’Mara, Caroline Barker, and Anna Alexandrov—the 2025 Pride Month program offers a range of meaningful ways for employees to get involved, and underscores LeanTaaS’ commitment to LGBTQIA+ inclusion and support.

The Evolution of Pride at LeanTaaS

LeanTaaS’s Pride Month programming first began in 2022, driven by employee advocacy and a desire to create greater visibility and support for queer and trans colleagues. What started with Zoom backgrounds, charity swag sales, and logo updates has since evolved into a thriving employee affinity group known as the Pride Alliance, now one of the company’s largest with over 70 members actively participating.

“We wanted to make sure that people who identify as LGBTQ+ at LeanTaaS know they are seen, valued, and supported,” shared Caroline Baker, Senior Customer Success Manager and Pride Leadership Team member. “It’s about creating spaces where everyone can feel safe to bring their whole selves to work.”

As the company and its programming have grown, so too has the importance of formal leadership. The Pride Month leadership team—affectionately known as the “House of Pride”—was established to help guide programming, foster ongoing dialogue with company leadership, and thoughtfully educate the broader LeanTaaS community on the significance of Pride.

“We organically came together at a point of necessity,” said Megan O’Mara, Product Implementation & Customer Success Manager on the Infusion team. “Representation matters. Visibility matters. Having this leadership group ensures that we’re not only advocating for our own community, but creating a culture that allows everyone to see themselves in a company that values diversity and inclusion.”

2025 Pride Month Programming: Education at the Forefront

This year, the Pride Month program thoughtfully emphasizes education, reflection, and celebration. Some of the featured events for Pride Month 2025 include:

  • Educational session on the history of Pride Month
  • Virtual Hall of Trailblazers, highlighting queer movers and shakers throughout history
  • Craft-a-long session, back by popular demand
  • Yoga with Pride, encouraging mindfulness and self-expression
  • Vibey Spotify playlist curated by the Pride Alliance
  • Swag fundraiser complete with custom t-shirts, accessories, and a very cute onesie

“This year’s programming is designed to both celebrate and educate,” added Tyler Moore, Senior Visual Designer and original founder of LeanTaaS’ Pride activities. “There’s a rich, complex history behind Pride and education is more important now than ever.”

Supporting Point of Pride: Extending LeanTaaS’ Mission to Bolster Healthcare Access

As part of its Pride Month activities, the Pride Alliance organized a voluntary fundraiser for Point of Pride.

“Improving healthcare access is one of the foundational pillars of what we do at LeanTaaS,” said Tyler. “Supporting Point of Pride allows us to extend our mission through a queer lens—helping improve access to health and wellness services for those who are often most marginalized within healthcare systems.”

The Pride Alliance at LeanTaaS has now raised over $4,000 for Point of Pride since it began fundraising for the organization several years ago.

Healthcare Access for All

For LeanTaaS, Pride Month isn’t just about internal community-building—it’s also a reminder of why its broader mission of improving healthcare operations is inseparable from conversations around healthcare access.

“There are tremendous health disparities that queer and trans individuals face—from higher rates of mental health challenges, to delays in care due to fear of discrimination, to inadequate access to gender-affirming treatment,” said Tyler. “It’s not a siloed issue. When we advocate for queer healthcare rights, we’re also advocating for racial equity, disability rights, and broader systemic change. It’s all interconnected.”

Megan added, “You can’t fix a problem until you name it. Equity starts with acknowledging our own privilege and being willing to address disparities that exist.”

Pride at LeanTaaS: A Year-Round Commitment

While Pride Month provides a focal point each June, the Pride Alliance and its leaders emphasize that their work extends well beyond one month on the calendar.

“We hope to eventually have year-round programming,” said Caroline. “The Alliance Slack channel has already become a safe space for queer employees to connect and for allies to learn and engage. It’s been beautiful to watch our community grow.”

Megan summed it up best: “This group was born out of a need—but what it’s grown into is something really special. It’s not about reacting to one moment; it’s about building something lasting that reflects LeanTaaS’s true values of inclusion, equity, and belonging.”
