Dr. Scott Gottlieb provides keynote at LeanTaaS Transform Virtual Healthcare Conference
The Transform Hospital Operations Virtual Summit, taking place Dec. 7-8, 2021, will welcome Scott Gottlieb, MD as keynote speaker, in a fireside chat with Mohan Giridharadas, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, LeanTaaS.
Dr. Gottlieb is a practicing physician and served as the 23rd Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration. A leading expert in health policy, Dr. Gottlieb works to provide insights into the economic and technological forces driving the transformation of healthcare. In 2018 and again in 2019, Dr. Gottlieb was recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of “The World’s 50 Greatest Leaders” and by Time Magazine as one of the “50 People Transforming Healthcare.”
The free Transform event is presented by LeanTaaS and Becker’s Healthcare. The session with Dr. Gottlieb, entitled “Better Healthcare Through Better Math: Preparing for the Future,” takes place on Dec. 8 at 10:30am CT.
Throughout the COVID pandemic, Dr. Gottlieb provided consistent and reliable expert analysis that guided not only leaders and policymakers but all Americans. His recent book, Uncontrolled Spread: Why COVID-19 Crushed Us and How We Can Defeat the Next Pandemic, delved into the issues that exacerbated the effects of the pandemic on the healthcare system, not least of which was the failure to collect relevant data. Dr. Gottlieb’s insights also offer lessons on preparing for a similar crisis in the future, and in solving the underlying problems the pandemic revealed.
In this Q&A presentation with Giridharadas, Dr. Gottlieb will cover the key learnings from his book, the clinical and public health policy challenges raised by the pandemic, and the importance of having the right infrastructure to glean critical health capacity information. He also shares predictions for the healthcare field moving forward and discusses how the data analytics and technology available now can help us prepare not only for the next pandemic but also for delivering better care in the years to come.
Discussion points will include which priorities healthcare executives should focus on in 2022; how to accelerate the pace of the adoption of new healthcare technologies; and recovering from the staffing challenges of the pandemic.
“We are so fortunate to have Dr. Gottlieb join us as keynote speaker for Transform. His book, Uncontrolled Spread, provides a unique window into what was really happening behind the scenes. I’m looking forward to a fascinating conversation with Dr. Gottlieb at the Transform Virtual Conference,” stated Giridharadas.
